Welcome to Attempts at Poetry, my new Substack! š
I know I promised an update for October 1st in the āComing soonā post, but things got delayed a little unexpectedly.
However, Iām here now and, moving forward, wanna use this newsletter to take you with me on my humble quest to become a poet (hopefully) and keep you posted about the poetry I publish in literary magazines.
In fact, Iām already maintaining another little newsletter, where I write mostly about digital design, and I originally planned to simply use that one for my poetry as well. Yet, after giving it some more thought I figured the audiences might be a little too different and that itās probably for the best to not mix things up too much.
Now, why am I doing all this in the first place? Itās relatively simple, really. Iāve always wanted to be a poet. As far as I remember, it must have been in second or third grade that I wrote my first poem and recited it in front of Mrs. Krummenerlās class. From then on, Iāve written poems on and off for many years, but was never really serious about putting them out there. However, Iāve started to change that, and this Substack is supposed to be a chronicle of my progress.
For more detailed information on what you can and cannot expect here, please feel free to check out my āAboutā page.
Iām really thrilled that you wanna be a part of this journey. Stay tuned and until next time!
Thanks,
Max
ā Or, alternatively, you can always spend me a coffee if you like what I write.
