My Poems in The Magnolia Review
Dear readers and friends,
Fantastic news! I'm excited to share that six (6!) of my poems have been published in the latest issue of The Magnolia Review. The journal, founded in 2011 by Suzanna Anderson, is an exceptional platform for art, photography, creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry, and their current Vol. 7, Issue 1, edited by Suzanna Anderson, David Anthony Sam, and Aretha Lemon, is a must-read.
Here are the poems I wrote that are included in this issue:
“xoxo, Giraffe,” which is about a trip to South Africa that may or may not have happened;
“Allegory of the Tomatoes,” where the tomatoes probably don’t stand for tomatoes;
“Madison Ave., NYC,” about a dream(?) set in New York City, between Madison Ave. and Central Park;
“Prinz-Georg-Straße, Düsseldorf,” which is—surprisingly—a poem about palm trees (or is it?);
“The Day Before Christmas Eve,” which is dedicated to my parents and tells the story of a stroll through the village where I grew up; and
“Cursed Soil,” another poem set in the same village.
